I am doing my best to not screw up the game for three other guys but imma moron, so a little help here would be fantastic.
I am hoping the community has experienced this and knows a few workarounds they would be willing to share, thanks for reading. Read Rinai Vero 's response. It is well written and explains your situation the best. Hopefully you can step back from your anger at the other responses, including the GM's, which to be fair from my perspective and the perspective of all those responding to your post was a correct response and not a brush off.
Your friends just need to do a set of 16 level 1 missions for a Gallente corp. Get a storyline mission. Complete it (very easy and you can do this as a group). And you will each then have a non-zero faction standing with the Gallente Federation.
If this is enough to frustrate you just wait. There are true bugs in the system like your own faction NPC's attacking you when you go into a squid's mission to kill him. Love that one. If you report that one to the GM's you will probably get a brush-off response in the form of "known bug, will be fixed 'soon'".
Just persevere and note that no game is ever perfect.
FW though has kept me playing this game. I had/have other characters that predate this, my FW alt, that were at different times into level 4 missions, tech II production, and nullsec pvp. All of that became boring over time.
This FW character has kept me playing this game. The fights are always available and the size is almost always small gang and cheap ships. It's a real downer anticipating a great fleet fight only to get alpha'd off the field at the beginning and not be able to get back into the fight in another ship because the server is crapping itself due to hundreds (or thousands) of dudes and supercaps clogging the series of tubes for the particular system the fight is taking place in.
This extreme blob induced frustration doesn't happen in FW. Or at least hasn't happened yet.
Actually it did happen once. In the Battle of Asakai. But even then it was so out of the norm that it was worth the tidi frustration to get on a Titan kill in a Maulus because one hero light drone made it through all the smartbombs to get one pidly potshot on that Titan.
CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting-áoff button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.
